The first batch of rare earth total control indicators issued

The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the 2018 annual total control index for rare earth ore tungsten mining. In 2018, the country's first mining total control index for rare earth ore (REO) and tungsten concentrate (60% tungsten oxide) will be issued at 70% of the 2017 target. The first batch of rare earth ore mining total control index 73,500 tons, of which ion type (based on heavy rare earth-based) rare earth ore index 12,530 tons, rock type (light) rare earth ore target 60,970 tons; tungsten concentrate mining total control index 63,900 tons.

Rare earth belongs to the national strategic resource and implements total production control plan. In 2016 and 2017, the rare earth mining index and smelting separation index were 105,000 tons and 100,000 tons, respectively, and the indicators have been gradually concentrated in the six major rare earth groups, and industry consolidation has been completed.

At the seminar on the high-quality development of raw material industry in April 2018, the chief of rare earth department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Feng Meng said that this year will reorganize the order, control the total amount, and promote the development of new rare earth materials industry. Start to promote high-quality collaborative development of the entire industry chain.

Feng Meng pointed out that in 2017, the development of the rare earth industry was steadily improving. The main business income was 84.04 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.4%; the profit was 7.47 billion yuan, an increase of 38.3%; the average price of main products rose by about 30% annually. Two years of export "decrease by volume" trend. Since the beginning of 2018, the rare earth industry has maintained a stable operation trend. From January to February, the entire industry realized a profit of 290 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.1%.
