Williams Olefins has announced that it will restart its ethylene unit in Geismar, Louisiana at the end of October. During the start-up phase, the plant capacity will increase from 270,000 tons/year to 900,000 tons/year.
Global Ethylene Expansion Force Continues to Join New Members In August, Total Petrochemical planned to establish a 900,000-ton/year cracker in the US Gulf Coast area. Formosa Plastics has obtained a greenhouse gas license from the US Environmental Protection Agency and plans to establish a polyolefin plant and LDPE plant at its company's production facility in Point Comfort, Texas.
Earlier, Shin-Etsu, OxyChem, Dow Chemical, and ExxonMobil Chemical have all obtained GHG licenses.
