National fire safety awareness rate is 64.27

The survey shows that: First, awareness of rural residents about fire safety awareness is significantly lower than that of urban residents. The awareness rate of knowledge about fire safety in rural residents was 60.23, and that of urban residents was 67.74. In terms of sub-items, rural residents' awareness of fire safety prevention was 47.82 points, and that of urban residents was 56.30 points; rural residents' knowledge of fire escape skills was 68.53 points, and urban residents were 75.05 points. Second, the national fire safety precautionary consciousness scored 52.74 points. The survey results showed that the highest rate of awareness of complaints of fire hazards was “96119” (60.60 points), and the lowest attention was paid to the location of safety exits in crowded places, with only 45.06 points. Thirdly, the score of knowledge and skill of self-rescued and escaped by the respondent's fire field was 71.95. Among them, “fire does not take elevators”, “appliances of household appliances or lines are properly handled” and “correctly dial fire calls” scored higher, scored more than 80 points each; a score of “understand the use of fire extinguishers” was low. It is 40.63 points.

The survey results also show that the age group above 65 years old, the knowledge of fire safety awareness, fire prevention awareness and fire escape self-help escape knowledge and skills are lower than other age groups; 30% of the respondents participated in fire safety training and fire escape to help themselves More than 90% of the respondents believe that fire safety training or drills are the best way to improve the ability of the fire scene to escape from self-rescue; 60% of the respondents mainly learn about fire safety knowledge through television and radio.

The survey was conducted using the Computer-Aided Telephone Survey (CATI) method. A total of 99,241 valid samples were completed, covering 31 urban and rural residents in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government). Urban and rural respondents accounted for 60.04% and 39.96, respectively. %, pay attention to the distribution of different age groups and different occupation groups from 7 to 75 years old, which improves the scientific and representativeness of the sample.

In light of the investigation results, the Fire Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security will deploy a series of targeted publicity and education activities throughout the country to continuously strengthen public fire safety awareness and strive to improve the quality of fire safety for all citizens.
