Heavy rain hit Sichuan phosphate rock Heavy rains have caused severe damage to phosphorus minerals in Mianzhu and Deyang in Sichuan Province.

Most of the phosphate-producing areas in Sichuan have been completely stopped due to the collapse of bridge roads and the obstruction of shipments. In 2012, the output of phosphorus ore in Sichuan was 11.85 million tons, accounting for 12.37% of the national output, ranking the top five in the country. In the recent storms and floods, the four phosphate mines in Mabian, Jinhe, Deyang, and Leibo suffered from various degrees of damage. Among them, Jinhe and Deyang suffered serious disasters.
